SCABIES, Easily Transmitted Mite Infection

Prevent scabies, mites under the skin layer.

Scabies is a type of skin disease that is familiar to the public and is often used as a joke among friends or relatives.

Scabies is a skin infection in the form of red or white spots like blisters or scaly, which appear between the fingers, arms, elbows, armpits, breasts, buttocks, and the area around the genitals. Scabies infection generally also causes intense itching that will become stronger at night.

Scabies can also attack baby and toddlers, on head areas such as the face and neck, as well as on the hands and soles of the feet.


Causes of Scabies

Scabies is caused by Sarcoptes Scabiei mite bites that make holes and stay under the skin layer. These mites can sometimes look like transparent lines on the skin.

Scabies has an incubation period of up to 6 weeks, which means a person will not show signs of infection for up to 6 weeks after contracting. This incubation period can also be faster if someone has infected Scabies before.

If not treated immediately, mites can live for months under the skin and lay eggs and breed up to millions.


Spreads of Scabies

Scabies can be transmitted through skin contact as well as with objects such as clothing, furniture, and bedding especially on society who live in densely populated environments.

When renting a house or a boarding room, we also need to thoroughly clean the furniture and bedding that has been used by previous occupants before starting to use it.


Prevention of Scabies

Scabies can be prevented by:

  • Routinely clean the bed at least twice a week
  • Wash bed sheet and blankets at least once a month

When a family member already infected with Scabies:

  • Avoid physical contact with the patient
  • Immediately clean the furniture that has been in direct contact with the patient


Treatment of Scabies

Scabies can be treated with SALEP 88 which has been trusted for generations with active ingredients that are effective in treating Scabies.

  • The ointment base also covering the infected skin area from dirt and water, so it is safe to use while doing activity in a humid and wet environment.
  • Because it is easily spread, doctors usually recommend that people that are closest to the scabies patient to participate in treatment.

How to Use SALEP 88

Before using SALEP 88, clean and dry the infected skin area. Rub and spread SALEP 88 on the infected area 3 times a day. The treatment period for scabies varies between 2 to 6 weeks, depending on how chronic the infection is.

  • That is important to keep using KRIM 88 for up to 10 days after the fungal skin infection has disappeared to prevent it from occurring again
  • Keep your bed and furniture clean so you don't get infected with mites that cause scabies. If necessary, provide SALEP 88 at home, office, or even in a bag for effective treatment.
